The primary allure of Nartiang is its natural beauty. The village is surrounded by dense forests, vibrant flora, and is set against a backdrop of rolling hills.
In the heart of this serene village, the Nartiang Durga Puja stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Jaintia people and their deep-rooted reverence for Goddess Durga. Every year, during the fortunate festival, the entire community comes alive with zeal and enthusiasm to celebrate the prevailing of good over evil.
The Durga idol is often made from indigenous materials, incorporating elements of Jaintia culture. The idol's attire and accessories often feature elements of the traditional Jaintia dress and jewelry, making it a symbol of cultural integration. The idol, carved from a banana tree by local artisans, is a fusion of Pnar and Bengali influences. During the Durga Puja celebrations in Nartiang, one can witness the mesmerizing traditional Jaintia dances and music performances.
