MCVP Students Selected for Kochi-Muziris Biennale

Fifth semester MCVP have been selected to be part of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Founded in 2011, Kochi-Muziris Biennale is India’s first ever biennial of international contemporary art and its story is unique to India’s current reality—it’s political, social and artistic landscape. This is one of India’s most prestigious art festivals which run for three months long in Kochi. The festival this time will be running from 13 December 2022 to 10 April 2023.

This year, seven of our students got through the selection committee which was curated by the Anga Art collective and their work is currently exhibited at the biennale. They are representing the college and the state of Meghalaya. The project that they are exhibiting is a photo project that they carried out during the month of July 2021 for their Photography paper assignment, which they documented their lived experiences of Covid and the lockdown period.

The students who were selected are Wanrikynti Kharlyngdoh, Iaiakmenlang Lyngdoh, Adriana Wahlang Syiemlieh, Neonette Sharon Hynniewta, Batyngkai Kharsohtun, Saphidaniewkor M Diengdoh and Joziah Ryan K Lyngdoh.

This is a matter of pride for the department and the college as well. Congratulations team!
